Synopsis

“No” is the trigger that makes us continue. The “No” speaks to us of concealment, reduction, dematerialization, and disappearance. Denial closes off, gags, silences, and denotes non-existence. But “No” is also everything that is yet to come. Accumulating information, doubting it, asking ourselves where we are going. Doubt as a driving force to seek answers and take the risk of the unknown. Denial is the oxygen that fire consumes and fuels creation.

Trajectory

La Venidera, directed by Albert Hernández and Irene Tena, former dancers of the Ballet Nacional de España, was born out of the choreographic and interpretative need of two artists seeking to find new perspectives in contemporary Spanish dance. Since 2019, the company has toured numerous festivals and theaters across Spain, in addition to choreographing for the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía and the Ballet Nacional de España. Internationally, it stands out for its Audience Award at the RIDCC 2023.
