The first works by María Moreno, Alas del recuerdo, De la Concepción and More(No)More, received awards at Jerez Festival and Sevilla Bienal. She collaborates with Rafael R. Villalobos and in 2022 premieres o../o../.o/o./o. (soleá). Since 2022, María has been investing site-specifics with her flamenco happening Verso Libre. In 2025, she premiered Magnificat at Centro Danza Matadero.
María Moreno speaks in flamenco. It is her mother tongue and the vehicle through which she carries out her poetic and theatrical research. For her, flamenco is a way of questioning and exploring all the issues that interest her. On this occasion, the ‘Visitation’ serves as a means of investigating bodies traversed by joy, what happens when we come together to celebrate, when we meet our loved ones and joy bursts forth like an uncontrollable force.
