The Operation is a piece built on operations—calculations, surgical procedures, economic transactions. It functions through operations and deconstructs the very notion of operation.THE OPERATION itself cannot be found; we only see its effects. The cut, the substitution—these are not visible in themselves. What we see is matter already transformed, but not the cut, not the substit.
With an academic background in dance and philosophy, Norberto Llopis develops an artistic and thinking practice around the body, movement, and performativity. Practice that crystallizes in various forms, such as stage performances, essays on artistic practice, performative conferences, installations, and durational actions. His current research focuses on the practice with and around the notion of “operation” in the performing arts.
