Inspired by danceble marathons and Latin American music rythms, LaCerda takes the vital impulse that moves all the bodies that dance to the rhythm of the music, to investigate the nature of dance as movement, but also as a festive meeting space and a paradigm of collectivity. El Baile de la Zurda is a tribute to dance, to the desire to live dancing despite everything, a tribute also to the Latin American roots of LaCerda’s artistic directors, source of their passion for dance.
LaCerda is a contemporary dance company that was born in 2013 in Barcelona with the intention of exploring the concept of ritual and the mysteries it entails on stage. Through dance, LaCerda works on creating poetic universes related to the unknown and the unfamiliar. It works from experience, sensation, and visceral energy with the aim of reaching the primary nature of Dance, which precedes both word and concept.
