Danzas Románticas is a solo, created and performed by Guillem Mont de Palol, with direction, set design and costumes by Jorge Dutor, in which, together, we put our hands in the convention of romantic ballets to try to heal certain cruelties of which we are still heirs. We want to question the way in which the idea of romantic love vindicates individuality, fatality, the idea of fragility and even heroic victimhood that justifies bestial behavior.
Montdedutor creators of stage works and performers. We work on the borders of different disciplines such as dance, architecture, theatre or opera and their fields of influence in politics and society. We have a very strong commitment to a place that for others is a place of passage: Being on the edge and not at the centre of things is an ideological position. Our practices cross languages and develop something energetic and empathetic. We use humour, absurdity, repetition and music.
