Each year, Danza València showcases local artistic projects and creative spaces through a specific route. This year, it moves to the Albufera area in Horta Sur, Valencia, which suffered the devastating floods of 2014.
The day includes two site-specific performances in the port of Catarroja, right on the Albufera lagoon, and one at the Algrà Creation Space, a community project for developing artistic proposals and residencies related to the performing arts, environmental activism, graphic arts, and the social function of art. The Algrà team consists of Carla Chillida, Elías Taño, Irene Fornés, and Florian Gründel.
The route also features site-specific performances by the artists Laura Morales, Cristina Reolid, and Rosa Sanz/Cuéntame Otra Project.

This piece transforms the walk into a transhumance, questioning the abandonment of rural life and the constant movement of the shepherdess/dancer, who must always seek out new pastures. From the outset, the shepherdess’s call to her flock, the audience, seeks to break with the conventions of the stage.
Using her body and voice as choreographic tools and driven by her desire to explore new physical expressions, she has opened up new universes, infused with humour and activism. Winning awards such as ‘Outstanding Dancer’ at the American Dance Festival, ”Best Piece and Staging’ at the IX Meeting of Creators of Andalusia, or ‘Danceweb’ at Impulstanz has empowered her as a creator and pushed her forward.

The solo It is nourished by the broken song of the earth and the synthetic pulse of life. It is a body that remembers, that resists and that allows itself to be pierced by the sound of the present. A lament of flesh and earth that travels through time until it collides with the body itself.
Cristina Reolid has developed her career combining performance, creation and acting training. Since 2016 has worked as a freelancer with choreographers and institutions such as La Veronal, Antonio Ruz, Gustavo Ramírez, the IVC, the Liceu and the Auditori de Barcelona. In 2016, she created the duo Moira with Jon López.

Based on the concept of devastation and its relation to what is broken, this piece approaches flamenco, voice, body and technology to create a synergy, an encounter of musical dialogue. A sensory journey through brokenness towards liberation because liberation also hurts.
Led by Rosa Sanz and Jesús Pérez, Proyecto Cuéntame Otra is conceived as a space for collaboration between Spanish dance and flamenco with other disciplines, such as contemporary dance and performance art. Its goal to establish a clea line of work, develop languages close to current avant-garde performing arts through productions, and transmit, without neglecting tradition, a vision of dance with its own identity.
