Like an invisible ghost, dance can travel in time, cross borders and possess our bodies. This is what Núria Guiu’s new piece, created with the Norwegian Ingri Fiksdal proposes. Nine dancers invoke from their personal dance memories to iconic pop culture choreographies. How is the history of dance written? How is it transmitted? A production within CÈL·LULA, an embryonic project for the production, creation and transmission of the Mercat de les Flors dance.
Núria Guiu has worked as a dancer with companies such as the Cullberg dance company, Gisèle Vienne, the Carte Blanche dance company, the Batsheva Dance Company. She was recently awarded the National Culture Award 2022, Catalonia’s most prestigious cultural distinction. Ingri Fiksdal works on projects on the intersection between the post-anthropocentric and the decolonial from a feminist perspective at the University of Oslo, and her works have been performed at numerous venues around the world.
